About Us

Our Story

In the years that we've been in business, we have developed a true expertise in septic tanks and systems. Our company uses this specialized knowledge to offer customers the absolute highest level of service.

From Our Owner

Welcome to Pedersen & Company Pumping here in Kalispell, Montana. My name is Mark Guffin, the owner of Pedersen & Co. Pumping. I am a native Montanan, graduating from Flathead High School in 1978. Upon graduating I enlisted in the United States Navy. When I was honorably discharged, I came back to Kalispell to work and be with my family and friends.

Pedersen and Co. Pumping was originally started in 1959 when Ken Pedersen went into the excavating business which was named Ken Pedersen Excavating. He did any job that involved moving dirt, which included installing septic tanks. Over the coming years he realized the need for septic tank pumping services here in the Flathead Valley. That is when he built a 1000-gallon septic pumper. The business then became Ken Pedersen Septic Pumping Service and from there the business grew. I went to work for Ken in 1984 and over the next 30 years we put two 3400-gallon tanks on pump trucks into service as well as continuing excavation jobs.

In 2014, Ken retired and offered to sell the business to my wife Kim and I. We became owners on October 1, 2014 and moved the business out to our home in West Valley. We also changed the name to Pedersen and Company Pumping to honor all the hard work that was done by Ken starting and running this company over the years. In June of 2015, our son-in-law, Kaleb Gannon, came to work for us. He and his wife Katelyn, moved home from South Dakota to help us out as well to raise their boys around family. Between Kaleb and I we have a combined 45 years of knowledge in septic pumping business. We take pride in our work. WE are very appreciative of our customers and the trust they have put in us to help them out with their septic needs.
